We try to give back to the community, and this weekend gives a great opportunity to do so!
As we have in the past, we’re volunteering with Treefolks, this time at the Williamson Creek Greenbelt. RSVP with them directly to make sure you get all the info for the event!
One note – while the event is scheduled from 9AM-1PM, typically they finish up around noon.
Some additional info from TreeFolks:
Ready, Set, Plant! is a volunteer tree-planting program that plants 10,000 trees each year along Austin’s creeks and rivers. We educate volunteers on proper tree planting techniques and riparian restoration in partnership with the City of Austin’s Watershed Protection Department and Keep Austin Beautiful. Some of the benefits of creekside planting include cooler water for aquatic life, erosion control, and filtering of pollutants from storm water. Our events are family friendly and provide an opportunity for community members to connect with Austin’s public lands.
No experience or tools are needed. We will train everyone at the beginning of the event, and provide all tools, materials, gloves, water, and snacks.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Gillian: volunteer@treefolks.org (512) 761-8738 cell.
