Our second annual, this is a regional campout for all groups in the Texas/Louisiana area.
Join us Saturday, December 1st at Russell Park at Georgetown Lake, 25 miles north of Austin, Texas.
Activity Schedule
9:00am-9:15am: Opening Ceremony – All scouts join in the center ring for opening ceremony and flag raising.
9:15am-11:30am: 20 Minute Stations – After our flag raising, scouts will be organized in groups structured to encourage making new friends of similar age. As a group, they will participate in six different short activities: navigation, safety, nature, handicrafts, outdoor skills, and games. Groups will rotate every twenty minutes.
1:30pm-4:30pm: Open Activities – All six of the stations (navigation, safety, nature, handicrafts, outdoor skills, and challenge course) will have an activity available. Scouts will be able to move freely between activities. All activities will have multiple adults supporting, but there will not be direct supervision assigned for each scout. Parents are responsible for providing direct supervision as needed. The activities are structured so all can enjoy at their own pace and depth.
4:30pm-4:45pm: Closing Ceremony – All scouts join in the center ring for closing ceremony and flag lowering.
The 7th Trailblazers is also working with other groups to coordinate the camp fire on Saturday evening and games on Sunday morning, more info to come!
Camping
Camping is available at the Russell Park Group Sites on Friday (November 30) and Saturday (December 1). Space is limited so register now, the campsite cost is included with Hullabaloo. Camp will open at 5pm on Friday, November 30. The 7th Trailblazers will be camping in the southeast section of the group site. In addition to the group site, we have reserved several family camping spots in the main campground area for overflow. If you would prefer to be in the main campground for Saturday night just spending the day at the group site, please contact Lisa Ward (lisa@runward.com).
Cost
Hullabaloo cost is $10 for each family member. This covers site and activity fees. The 7th Trailblazers is also independently offering meals (Saturday lunch, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast and snacks) for an additional $8 per person (maximum $24 per family). If cost of the event makes participation difficult, there are scholarships available to ensure all can participate, contact Lisa Ward or Mark Novick for details.
Food
As indicated above, the 7th Trailblazers are independently offering Saturday and Sunday meals. Families camping Friday night will need to provide their own Friday night dinner and Saturday morning breakfast.
There will be vegetarian options available for all meals. Please make note of any dietary restrictions in the sign up, and our chef team will work to make sure that everyone can enjoy the meal together.
Please do not bring peanuts or peanut butter to the site due to a severe allergy. If other such allergies exist, please specifically state the request when listing medical needs, and we will communicate it to all participants.
